Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Beef thinly sliced
  • 2 Bell peppers sliced (red and yellow)
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 Carrots julienned
  • 1 cup Broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tsp Ginger minced
  • 3 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • ¼ cup Water
  • Fresh ground black pepper to taste

Step 1 – Prep Your Ingredients

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Slice the beef into thin strips. Ensure they’re even to cook uniformly.
  • Chop the vegetables as described. Uniformity is your friend here.
  • Note: Prepping everything before you start cooking is crucial. Stir frying is a fast process, and you won’t have time to chop as you go!

Step 2 – Marinate the Beef

  • In a bowl, combine the beef, 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and a bit of black pepper.
  • Mix well to coat all pieces and set aside for 10 minutes.
  • Fact: Marinating meat not only adds flavor but also helps tenderize it, making your beef stir fry melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Step 3 – Heat Your Wok

  • Heat your wok over high heat until it’s smoking slightly.
  • Add a splash of sesame oil to coat the bottom.
  • Warning: Always heat the wok before adding the oil. This helps prevent sticking and ensures your food cooks evenly.

Step 4 – Stir Fry the Beef

  • Add the marinated beef to the hot wok.
  • Stir fry for about 2-3 minutes or until the beef is browned and nearly cooked through.
  • Remove the beef from the wok and set aside.

Step 5 – Cook the Vegetables

  • In the same wok, add another tsp of oil if needed.
  • Add garlic and ginger, sauté for about 30 seconds.
  • Toss in onions, bell peppers, and carrots. Stir fry for about 2 minutes.
  • Add broccoli and stir fry for an additional 2 minutes.

Step 6 – Combine and Finish

  • Return the beef to the wok.
  • Pour in the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce.
  • Stir everything together and cook for another 2 minutes until everything is heated through and coated in sauce.
