Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Large frying pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Aluminum foil
  • Meat mallet or rolling pin
  • Sharp knife
  • Cheese grater

Ingredients

  • 3 medium Chicken breasts
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 ½ cups Marinara sauce
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 12 Slider buns
  • Fresh basil leaves optional, for garnish

Instructions

Step 1 – Prepare the Chicken

  • Flatten the chicken breasts to about ½ inch thickness using a meat mallet.
  • Season both sides with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder.
  • Note: Flattening the chicken ensures it cooks evenly and fits perfectly on your slider buns.

Step 2 – Cook the Chicken

  • Heat olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  • Cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from pan and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  • Warning: Keep an eye on the chicken as it cooks to avoid burning, as it can dry out quickly.

Step 3 – Assemble the Sliders

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut the cooked chicken into slider-sized pieces.
  • Place a slice of chicken on the bottom half of each slider bun.
  • Top each with a spoonful of marinara sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella.
  • Sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Cap with the top halves of the slider buns.
  • Wrap the sliders in aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Tip: Wrapping the sliders in foil keeps them moist and helps the flavors meld beautifully.

Notes

  • For an extra crispy topping, open the foil for the last 2 minutes of baking.
  • If you’re short on time, pre-cooked chicken cutlets can be used; just ensure they’re nicely seasoned.
