Equipment

  • Tea kettle or a small saucepan
  • Measuring spoons
  • Strainer or tea infuser
  • Mugs for serving

Ingredients

  • 4 sticks Cinnamon sticks
  • 4 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 small piece Optional: Fresh ginger

Instructions

Step 1 – Prep Your Cinnamon

  • Place your cinnamon sticks into the tea kettle or saucepan.
  • If you’re adding ginger, peel and slice it before tossing it in with the cinnamon.
  • Note: Using whole cinnamon sticks rather than ground cinnamon helps prevent the tea from becoming too cloudy.

Step 2 – Boil and Simmer

  • Pour the water over the cinnamon and ginger.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes to allow the spices to fully infuse.
  • Warning: Keep an eye on your kettle to prevent it from boiling over!

Step 3 – Sweeten and Serve

  • Remove the tea from the heat and strain it into mugs.
  • Stir in honey to taste and serve warm.
  • Tip: If you prefer a stronger cinnamon flavor, let the tea steep with the cinnamon sticks for a few more minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a caffeine kick, add a bag of black tea during the last 3 minutes of simmering.
  • You can store extra cinnamon tea in the refrigerator and enjoy it chilled or reheated.
