- 500 g Ground chicken
- 1 cup Cheddar cheese grated
- 2 tbsp Taco seasoning
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Green chilies chopped
- 8 Tortillas flour
- As needed Oil for frying
Step 1 – Prepare the Filling
Combine ground chicken, cheddar cheese, taco seasoning, onion, and green chilies in a mixing bowl.
Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Note: For the best flavor, let the filling sit for about 10 minutes before stuffing, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Step 2 – Stuff and Roll the Tortillas
Place an even amount of filling along the center of each tortilla.
Roll the tortillas tightly to encase the filling.
Warning: Ensure the edges are tucked in properly to prevent any filling from leaking out during frying.
Step 3 – Fry to Golden Perfection
Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the Crispitos until golden brown, usually about 3-4 minutes.
Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Tip: Keep the fried Crispitos in a warm oven if you need to fry them in batches to serve all at once.
- For a lighter version, bake the Crispitos at 375°F (190°C) until crisp, about 15-20 minutes.
- Use toothpicks to secure the tortillas if they unroll during prep.
