Equipment

  • Electric mixer or whisk
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spatula
  • Jar or container for storage

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 2 tbsp Powdered sugar optional
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon optional

Instructions

Step 1 – Prep Your Butter

  • Let your butter soften to room temperature so it blends smoothly. Do not melt it, as we need the butter to maintain some structure.
  • Note: Softening the butter outside the fridge for about an hour should do the trick.

Step 2 – Mixing

  • In your mixing bowl, beat the butter using an electric mixer or a whisk until it’s creamy and smooth.
  • Gradually add the honey and continue beating until it’s well incorporated. If you’re using powdered sugar and cinnamon, add them now.
  • Beat the mixture on high speed for about 2 minutes or until it becomes light and fluffy.
  • Warning: Be sure not to overmix, or the butter can become too loose.

Step 3 – Storage

  • Transfer the honey butter into a jar or an airtight container.
  • Store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. Remember, it spreads best at room temperature, so pull it out a few minutes before you want to use it.
  • Note: Honey butter can be stored in the fridge for up to a month.

Notes

  • If you prefer a vegan option, use a plant-based butter substitute that can mimic the consistency of real butter.
  • For a holiday twist, add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice to your honey butter.
