- 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
- 1/4 cup Honey
- 2 tbsp Powdered sugar optional
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon optional
Step 1 – Prep Your Butter
Let your butter soften to room temperature so it blends smoothly. Do not melt it, as we need the butter to maintain some structure.
Note: Softening the butter outside the fridge for about an hour should do the trick.
Step 2 – Mixing
In your mixing bowl, beat the butter using an electric mixer or a whisk until it’s creamy and smooth.
Gradually add the honey and continue beating until it’s well incorporated. If you’re using powdered sugar and cinnamon, add them now.
Beat the mixture on high speed for about 2 minutes or until it becomes light and fluffy.
Warning: Be sure not to overmix, or the butter can become too loose.
Step 3 – Storage
Transfer the honey butter into a jar or an airtight container.
Store it in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. Remember, it spreads best at room temperature, so pull it out a few minutes before you want to use it.
Note: Honey butter can be stored in the fridge for up to a month.
- If you prefer a vegan option, use a plant-based butter substitute that can mimic the consistency of real butter.
- For a holiday twist, add a pinch of nutmeg or pumpkin spice to your honey butter.
