- 1 pound Sausage chicken or beef
- 2 large Onions sliced
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 large Red bell pepper sliced
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs like parsley, chopped
Step 1 – Prep Your Ingredients
Slice the onions and bell pepper.
Mince the garlic.
Chop the parsley for garnishing.
Always start with fresh ingredients to maximize the flavor in your dishes.
Step 2 – Brown the Sausage
Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
Searing the sausage unlocks a depth of flavor that infuses the entire dish.
Step 3 – Sauté the Vegetables
In the same pan, add onions and bell pepper.
Cook over medium heat until softened, about 6-7 minutes.
Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Don’t rush this step; properly softened onions are sweet and rich in taste.
Step 4 – Combine and Simmer
Slice the cooked sausages and return them to the pan.
Season with salt and black pepper.
Stir well and let everything simmer together for another 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
A good simmer doesn’t just cook food; it blends the flavors beautifully.
- If the mixture seems dry, add a splash of chicken broth to keep everything juicy.
- Adjust the seasoning according to taste before serving.
