Equipment

  • Large frying pan
  • Cutting board
  • Chef’s knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Sausage chicken or beef
  • 2 large Onions sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 large Red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs like parsley, chopped

Instructions

Step 1 – Prep Your Ingredients

  • Slice the onions and bell pepper.
  • Mince the garlic.
  • Chop the parsley for garnishing.
  • Always start with fresh ingredients to maximize the flavor in your dishes.

Step 2 – Brown the Sausage

  • Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
  • Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 8 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Searing the sausage unlocks a depth of flavor that infuses the entire dish.

Step 3 – Sauté the Vegetables

  • In the same pan, add onions and bell pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat until softened, about 6-7 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Don’t rush this step; properly softened onions are sweet and rich in taste.

Step 4 – Combine and Simmer

  • Slice the cooked sausages and return them to the pan.
  • Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Stir well and let everything simmer together for another 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
  • A good simmer doesn’t just cook food; it blends the flavors beautifully.

Notes

  • If the mixture seems dry, add a splash of chicken broth to keep everything juicy.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to taste before serving.
