- 1 cup Pastina pasta
- 4 cups Chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- To taste Salt
- To taste Black pepper
Step 1: Boil the Broth
Place the chicken broth in a medium-sized pot.
Bring the broth to a boil over medium heat.
A gentle boil is perfect here—too vigorous and you might reduce the broth too much.
Step 2: Cook the Pastina
Add the pastina to the boiling broth.
Stir occasionally to prevent the pasta from sticking.
Cook according to the package instructions, usually about 5 minutes, until it is al dente.
Keep an eye on the pastina; due to its small size, it cooks quickly and can easily be overcooked.
Step 3: Add Butter and Cheese
Once the pastina is cooked, turn off the heat.
Stir in the butter and grated Parmesan cheese until well combined.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
The butter and cheese meld together to create a creamy, rich texture that’s absolutely divine.
- If you prefer a looser consistency, you can add more broth or a splash of milk before serving.
- Pastina can stick together if left to sit, so serve it immediately after cooking for the best texture.
