Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Salmon canned or fresh
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Large egg
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh dill chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 medium Onion finely chopped
  • Olive oil for frying
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Step 1 – Prepare the Salmon

  • Drain the salmon if using canned, or finely flake if using fresh.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, dill, garlic powder, onion, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  • Note: Make sure the salmon is thoroughly flaked to ensure the patties bind well without falling apart during cooking.

Step 2 – Form the Patties

  • Shape the mixture into four even patties.
  • If the mixture feels too wet, add a bit more breadcrumbs to help it hold together.

Step 3 – Cook the Patties

  • Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Warning: Keep an eye on the heat as too high could burn the breadcrumbs, ruining the delicate flavor of the patties.

Notes

  • If using fresh salmon, ensure it’s fully cooked through before forming patties.
  • Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes before frying to help them hold their shape better.
