- 500 g Salmon canned or fresh
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Large egg
- 2 tablespoons Fresh dill chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 medium Onion finely chopped
- Olive oil for frying
- 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
Step 1 β Prepare the Salmon
Drain the salmon if using canned, or finely flake if using fresh.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the salmon, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, dill, garlic powder, onion, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
Note: Make sure the salmon is thoroughly flaked to ensure the patties bind well without falling apart during cooking.
Step 2 β Form the Patties
Shape the mixture into four even patties.
If the mixture feels too wet, add a bit more breadcrumbs to help it hold together.
Step 3 β Cook the Patties
Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Warning: Keep an eye on the heat as too high could burn the breadcrumbs, ruining the delicate flavor of the patties.
- If using fresh salmon, ensure itβs fully cooked through before forming patties.
- Refrigerate the patties for 30 minutes before frying to help them hold their shape better.
