- 1 lb Large shrimp peeled and deveined
- As per taste Salt and black pepper
- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 2 Eggs beaten
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 2 cups Marinara sauce
- For garnish Fresh basil chopped
Step 1 – Prepare the Shrimp
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
Dredge each shrimp in flour, dip into beaten eggs, and then coat with a mixture of Panko breadcrumbs and half of the grated Parmesan.
Pro Tip: Ensure each shrimp is thoroughly coated for the perfect crunch!
Step 2 – Fry the Shrimp
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the shrimp and fry until golden on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
Transfer the fried shrimp to a baking dish.
Note: Don’t overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary!
Step 3 – Assemble and Bake
Pour the marinara sauce over the shrimp.
Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan and all of the mozzarella over the top.
Bake in the preheated oven until the cheese is bubbly and golden, about 10-12 minutes.
Warning: Keep an eye on your oven! Overcooking can lead to rubbery shrimp.
- For an extra flavor kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to your marinara sauce.
- If you prefer a less cheesy version, reduce the amount of mozzarella.
