- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
Step 1 – Prep the Turkey Wing Tips
Start by rinsing the turkey wing tips under cold water and patting them dry with paper towels.
Place them in a large mixing bowl, ready for seasoning.
Warning: Don’t skip drying! Moisture left on the skin will make it hard to get that crispy texture we’re after.
Step 2 – Season the Turkey
Drizzle olive oil over the wing tips to coat evenly.
Add salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes.
Toss everything until the turkey wing tips are evenly covered with seasoning.
Tip: If you’re short on smoked paprika, regular paprika works too, but that smoky flavor is worth it!
Step 3 – Arrange and Bake
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Set the turkey wing tips on a wire rack over a baking sheet.
Roast them in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Note: Flipping halfway ensures even cooking and makes each side golden brown.
Step 4 – Check Doneness
Insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of one wing tip.
The internal temperature should be at least 165°F (74°C).
Fact: Wings continue to cook a bit after being removed from the oven. This rest period also allows juices to redistribute, making the meat juicier.
- Rest after baking: Allow the wing tips to rest for about 5 minutes before serving. It locks in all that flavor.
