- 1 cup Pineapple juice
- 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 clove Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Water
Step 1 – Prepare the Juice Mixture
In your saucepan, combine the pineapple juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
Note: Always dissolve your sugar before ramping up the heat to avoid burning.
Step 2 – Thicken the Sauce
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water until smooth.
Slowly pour the cornstarch mixture into the saucepan, whisking continuously.
Keep stirring until the sauce thickens. This should take about 5 minutes.
Warning: Whisk constantly to prevent the sauce from clumping.
- For a spicier kick, add a dash of sriracha or your favorite hot sauce.
- If the sauce is too thick, thin it out with a bit more pineapple juice or water.
